Review for final (from Pitman)

The three sample finals in the back of Pittman are good places to start studying. I've marked the questions below that we didn't cover in class. Note: each of these is supposed to be a 3 hour exam, since we only have two hours, our exam won't be as long. Note: sample answers are given on page 500-503.

We didn't spend much time on covariance, so feel free to ignore questions about covariances. (You should know the definition, but that is really about all.)

  • p 492: Skip problem 8. (Problems 5 and 10 are hard!)
  • p 494: skip problem 8.
  • p 496: skip problem 4 and 5, 6b, 6c (problems 9 and 10 are hard!)
